B.Com.(Hons.) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University of Delhi in the year 1976 with First Division.

Qualified as a Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India :

  • Passed CA Final Examination in November, 1977 With 13th Rank on All India basis.

Positions Held

Government Sets-Up A Committee to Simplify The Provisions of The Income Tax Act, The Government of India has constituted a Committee with a view to simplify the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961, vide Notification dated - 27-October-2015 and DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE, MINISTRY OF FINANCE, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA has taken CA Vinod Jain as an Expert Member.

Ministry of Coal has appointed him as a Independent Director in Coal India Limited.

Member Central Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
Member Central Council, an Apex Body Supervising, controlling and managing the entire CA Education, examination and Training, setting up of Accounting Standards, setting up of Auditing Standards and most importantly undertaking disciplinary mechanism and prosecution in relation to professional misconduct and other misconducts committed by Chartered Accountants in terms of Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and Chartered Accountant Regulations 1988, rules and guidelines framed there under.

Mr. Vinod Jain has a long 12 years’ experience as a Member of Central Council from 1998 to 2004 and 2007 to 2013 of supervising as a Member of the Council, Investigation, displining and prosecution of erring Chartered Accountants and to disseminating justice including participation in personal hearing as Final Authority (as a Council- Quasi Judicial body)

Has been Chairman of Financial Market and investors protection Committee 5 years, Professional development committee, Management Accounting committee 4 years, Expert advisory Committee of ICAI

Has also served Accounting standard Board, Auditing and assurance standard Board, public finance committee, Information Technology committee, Insurance Committee etc.

Served as an Elected Member on National Council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for two terms.

Served as an Elected Member on Delhi State Council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 1998. He also served on the Direct Tax Advisory Group for that year.

Served as an elected President of Association of National Stock Exchange Members of India (ANMI) 1999-2000. Chairman North 1998-99

Served as Chairman Board of Studies of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for 2010 – 2011 being Incharge and overall responsibility for the chartered accountant education in the country serving 10,00,000 plus CA Students. Undertook several new initiatives including comprehensive revision of more than 16000 pages of the Study Material, introduced the concept of Practical Manual bringing forth all practical questions and issues for educating Chartered Accountant Students, introduction of a high level in depth Information Technology Training and the 2nd level of mandatory course on General Management Communication Skill besides introducing and designing Residential Training of CA Students at Hyderabad Centre of Excellence. Development of E- education and Satellite classes across India.

Northern India Regional Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India 3 Years Elected member of the Northern India Regional Council of ICAI from 1982 to 1985.

Chairman - Northern India Regional Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India from September, 1983 to September, 1984 and Also served as Secretary (1982-83) and Treasurer (1984-1985).

The NIRC was responsible for Continuing Professional Education, Professional Development, Research and close co-ordination with the Council of Central Council in terms of various functions as described in the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and Chartered Accountants Regulation framed there under.

Founder and National Director and Dean of One Year Certificate Course in Finance (MBF) being a Certificate Course conducting classes in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata on regular basis besides residential program. The basic minimum qualification for the One year Masters in Business Finance (MBF) Program is being a qualified Chartered Accountant (served from July 2011 till February, 2013) on this position being Chairman, Committee of Management Accounting (2010-2013). The course has inculcated expert knowledge of finance and banking through 6 papers, 3 levels, 250 hours of class room teaching, 2 weeks residential, projects, presentations, research and case studies in finance and banking. Already more than 1000 CAs have undertaken this course.

Founder and National Director of 3 Month Certificate Course on Valuation conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on a national level for qualified Chartered Accountants.(2007-2010)being Chairman, Committee on Financial Markets and Investors protection of ICAI. Already more than 2000 CAs have undertaken this course. Also organized more than 1000 programme on Investors Education across India on behalf of the Institute and Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

National Director of Certificate Course on Forex Risk and Treasury Management, a 10 week specialized certificate course program of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for qualified Chartered Accountants.(2010-13)

Mr. Jain is a Convener of National Economic Forum, since 1997 a NGO undertaking research in micro and macro-economic development of the country
